Dexter Morgan is the reticent jovial employee in Miami Metropolitan PD’s crime lab and series moves around him. Show is based on Jeff Lindsay’s novels Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter. He’s a forensic expert specializing in blood splatter analysis.
Dexter’s having homicidal tendencies which were detected by his father Harry who encouraged his son to use his violent impulses in positive manner and filled up the boy with a strict moral code. During the day Dexter tracks down the killers and slakes his blood lust by killing them at night. Debra is his adoptive sis; a Miami Cop. Rita is Dexter’s girlfriend who’d only recently escaped an abusive relationship with her ex-husband. Dexter struggles to have emotions which humans do usually have, but he doesn’t and also tries to be a caring as well as socially responsible human being. Such is his innocence and cuteness that no one suspects him of being a killer.

Season 1
A Miami Police Officer Harry Morgan adopts Dexter after when he discovers his sociopathic tendencies and makes him to use his powers for the welfare of innocent. He taught a sentence- “Kill the people, who deserve it”. Most of his victims (Killers) are those who’re never caught by the system, either no efforts are made to arrest them or they just escaped brilliantly from everything.
Season 1 was centered on ‘The Ice Truck Killer’- a serial killer. Dexter’s sis starts dating Rudy, who may be the Ice Truck Killer. As season 1 comes to an end, he (Rudy) tries to kill her but Dexter is there to stop him and to save her sister. Dexter kills Rudy and tries to show it like a suicide. However, Doakes is not ready to accept this suicide theory. The season ends with Dexter and his sister entering a crime scene, with Dexter imagining a tickertape parade for himself, complete with confetti and airplane fly-over.

Season 2
Season 2 begins with the treasure hunters who discover Dexter’s under water store for his victims and police starts getting dead-body after dead-body from the sea. Things start getting complicated and media names the killer as ‘Bay Harbor Butcher’. An FBI agent Lundy is appointed to catch the killer.
Paul, Rita’s ex husband has dead in a prison break; eventually Rita accuses Dexter of setting up her husband and also believes that he’s a Heroin addict. Deb is going through the trauma of her experience with Ice Truck Killer so is living with her bro. During this season, Dexter’s glass slide containing blood samples were discovered by Doakes. Season finale brought his girlfriend playing a surrogate mom.
