Burn Notice is issued to Michael Westen who is a highly trained American secret agent and is on assignment in Nigeria. Burn Notice means- a spy is unreliable so is being fired for unknown reasons. He must find out who issued the Burn Notice and why they issued this? Michael is without all resources and contacts he once had at his disposal.
Penniless Michael returns to his home town Miami, and tries to sort out the things. During his quest, he’s assisted by Fiona who’s an ex-IRA agent as well as his ex-girlfriend. Sam Axe, a former navy seal skilled in surveillance is also to help Michael; and Madeline Westen, Michael’s mom having no intimates about his son’s profession.
Continuously searching for people who blacklisted him, he uses his spy skills to help people who’re in trouble and who need him.

Season 1
Burn Notice season 1 discovers that he’s been burned. Without any knowledge why he has been fired, he returns to his home town and starts living a life there. Though, he has started a new life but still he’s looking for the reasons why they blacklisted him and why he’s unreliable. Michael gets a small investigation case- Javier, a caretaker of an estate us accused of stealing some precious things and all the proofs are saying that. Michael investigates the case and discovers that everything is planned by Graham Pyne, the owner and he framed Javier just to collect the insurance. Michael proves it. Pyne agrees to clear Javier’s name and provides him financial support.
Dan Siebels, his old superior, is whom Michael is trying to make contact. With his endless efforts, he succeeds and finally gets to confront Siebels about the burn notice. Michael returns home to find his door open and the floor covered with surveillance photos. It’s not the FBI, but whoever it is; they’ve been tracking his every move.
A message is left for Michael- “Welcome to Miami.”
